Learn To Surf In Australia
We are energised by the ocean and the lifestyle that surfing brings and we look to pass on that knowledge and energy through surfing programs that educate and empower our ‘students’ into the life that they dream about.
Fun loving, healthy, easy-going, friendly and free.
Our Surf Development Courses takes participants through a number of developmental phases of surfing (dependent on your length of stay) I.E. Beginner to Intermediate, Intermediate to Advanced Intermediate, Advanced Intermediate to Advanced.
This being said, even if you have no prior surfing experience, you can expect that after the first 2 weeks of your stay, you will be surfing unbroken waves in water depths of 2 metres or more thus requiring every participant to be able to swim 50 metres unaided without stopping.
We have surf coaches from around the world working for us but all of our lessons are delivered in English. It is a requirement of this course that the participants have at least a basic understanding of English (not perfect) so they can understand the safety advice delivered by our surf instructors.

As part of our weekly itinerary we take our guests somewhere fun one afternoon per week away from the surf. This could be on a hike up Sublime Point to take in some breathtaking scenery, an afternoon exploration of the Royal National Park, a visit to Macquarie pass and its famous waterfall jump rock or to the Eat Street markets in Wollongong.
There are amazing activities all around our Surf Camp that you can enjoy during the week with us or on the weekend on your own. There is amazing scuba diving, para-gliding at Stanwell Park, sky diving at North Beach and so many other things to do that you will probably have to stay a year to get through them all.
We are located smack bang in the middle of a small surfing town called Thirroul. The waves are epic and you will have more than 20 beaches to choose from when picking some waves to surf. Surrounded by the Illawarra Escarpment and the Royal National Park, this little town is about as picturesque as you can get and has a vibrant surfing, music and art scene as it’s core. There are plentiful cafe’s and bars, pubs and surf shops to enjoy and as many waves as you can handle and everything is within 2 minutes walk from our Beach Motel!
Thirroul is only an hour and 10 minutes south of Sydney Central or 1 hour South of the airport. It is also on the Northern beaches of Wollongong which is a vivacious university town brimming with nightlife, shopping and amazing beaches. Why does this matter? If you are staying for 1, 2 or 3 months, being stuck out in the middle of nowhere can send you crazy and we certainly don’t want that. We want you to enjoy your life as a surfer as we do. Spend the weekends partying in Sydney or Wollongong, go sight seeing, eat out or surf some new beaches in your spare time and have the ease of staying in your own bed. Thirroul has an express train station that will link you with the rest of the world and is a 3 minute walk from where you live. You’re in Australia now, so enjoy it!
